Alon Yizhak

Alon Yizhak is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Music Therapy at Loyola University New Orleans' College of Music and Media. He is a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) whose work integrates mindfulness-based and strength-based philosophies to enable transformative spaces through music, creativity, and self-expression.

With extensive experience across diverse settings—including schools, group homes, correctional facilities, inpatient psychiatry, and private practice—Alon focuses on therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, adults with developmental disabilities, autistic spectrum clients, and mental health/substance abuse populations. His research interests span music therapy applications, mindfulness integration in clinical counseling, and creative self-expression as a tool for growth and change.
