Dr Ally Lu is a Lecturer at the School of Geography and Planning, University of Sheffield. Her multidisciplinary background spans landscape architecture, architecture, and urban planning, with a focus on colonial urban history and heritage conservation. She holds a PhD in Planning and Landscape from the University of Manchester and has extensive experience in community-based planning, heritage preservation, and sustainable water environment projects.
Her research explores urban landscape history, contested values in heritage conservation (collective memory, economic development), and sustainable urban water planning. Recent work includes land use strategies for reservoir watersheds and flood prevention.
She has received awards from the National Science Council and the Taiwan Institute of Urban Planning for her thesis on Keelung’s urban development under Japanese governance. Lu is an Academic Member of the Landscape Institute and actively contributes to international academic collaborations.
