Allison V. Craig

Allison V. Craig is a Lecturer in the Writing & Critical Inquiry (WCI) Program at the University at Albany. She earned her PhD and MA in English from University at Albany and Virginia Tech, respectively. Her work focuses on late 20th to 21st century American literature, feminist cultural theory, trauma studies, and critical pedagogy.

Her research explores how cultural texts and writing practices can analyze individual and systemic behaviors while fostering critical thinking. She specializes in trauma studies, film studies, and composition and rhetoric.

Dr. Craig teaches WCI courses that emphasize multimodal experimentation and open-source materials. Key course themes include Stacey Waite’s queer writing pedagogy and Nikole Hannah-Jones’ reflections on America.
