Allison Petrozziello

Allison Petrozziello is an Assistant Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University and a BSIA Fellow. Her work focuses on gender, migration governance, and human rights, with a regional emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean. She has collaborated with international organizations such as UN Women, ILO, and UNHCR.

Her research examines birth registration as a bordering practice, statelessness, and gendered migration policies. She connects academic work to policy frameworks, influencing UN and ILO recommendations.

Notable awards include the Governor General’s Gold Medal (2023), Ontario Graduate Scholarship (2021-2022), and CALACS Best Graduate Essay Prize (2022). She is affiliated with the International Migration Research Centre and the Gender+Migration Hub.
