Allison Joseph

Allison Joseph is a Professor in the Department of English at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She is a prominent poet and educator whose work focuses on creative writing and contemporary literature.

Her recent poetry collections include Lexicon (2021), Professional Happiness (2021), and Confessions of a Barefaced Woman (2018). The latter won the 2019 Feathered Quill Book Award and was a finalist for the 2019 NAACP Image Award in poetry. She is a member of the creative writing faculty and her poems have appeared in the New York Times and the Best American Poetry Series.
