Allison Hilger serves as Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Undergraduate Study in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she joined in 2020 as an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist with clinical experience in Chicago.

Research Interests: Dr. Hilger investigates impaired speech production in neurological disorders, specializing in how prosody (pitch, loudness, and timing) is affected in conditions like ataxic dysarthria. Her work examines auditory feedback mechanisms in speech adjustments for both healthy speakers and those with motor speech disorders, utilizing translational approaches to bridge clinical practice and research. Current projects focus on prosody and auditory feedback deficits in ataxic dysarthria through the CO Motor Speech Lab.
Labs and Teams: She directs the CO Motor Speech Lab, which conducts empirical research on motor speech pathophysiology and develops evidence-based evaluation and treatment protocols for speech disorders.
