Allison Gordon

Allison Gordon is a Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Kentucky's College of Communication and Information. She holds a Ph.D. (2010) and M.A. (2006) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research examines interpersonal communication in healthcare contexts, particularly focusing on cancer communication, patient-provider interactions, and health behavior interventions.

Research Interests: Dr. Gordon specializes in how communication quality affects healthcare decisions, uncertainty management in medical contexts, and psychosocial aspects of genetic testing and cancer survivorship.

Grants and Projects: Active in NIH-funded research including cluster randomized trials on end-of-life conversations and ICU family communication. Serves on the Markey Cancer Center research team.
