Allison Goebel is a Professor and Queen’s National Scholar at Queen’s University’s School of Environmental Studies, Department of Environmental Studies. She holds cross-appointments in Gender Studies, Sociology, Global Development Studies, and Cultural Studies. Her research focuses on environmental justice, gender-environment linkages in Africa, urbanization, and climate change impacts.

Her work examines women’s agency in post-extractive transitions, food security, and gendered citizenship in South Africa and Southern Africa. Recent projects include analyzing UN peacekeeper interactions and decolonizing art exhibitions.
