Alli Hoag is Associate Professor and Area Head of Glass at Bowling Green State University's School of Art. She holds an MFA from Alfred University (2012) and BFA from University of Hawaii at Manoa (1997). Her artistic practice explores the intersection of materiality, myth, and human-nature relationships through glass.
Artistic Research: Hoag investigates glass as a 'vehicle of magic' bridging human consciousness and the natural world. Her work references historical uses of glass (crystal balls, mirrors) while examining modern mediated experiences through installations that reconstruct narratives using wax reproductions and cast glass forms.
