Allen Lowery

Dr. Allen Lowery is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at Kent State University's College of Arts & Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Bowling Green State University with concentrations in Criminology/Deviant Behavior and Social Psychology, an M.B.A. from Tiffin University, a Bachelor’s in History and Political Science from the University of Findlay, and an Associate Degree in law enforcement.

His research focuses on criminology, deviant behavior, and the intersection of social psychology with criminal justice systems. He brings extensive practical experience from his background as a law enforcement officer, detective, undercover narcotics investigator, and academy instructor.

Dr. Lowery has developed courses and programs for multiple institutions and has served in academic leadership roles including Regional Director, Associate Dean, Dean, and Vice President of Academic Affairs.
