About
Allen Finley is a Professor in the Department of Anesthesia, Pain Management & Perioperative Medicine at Dalhousie University, with a cross-appointment in Psychology & Neuroscience. He holds the inaugural Dr. Stewart Wenning Chair in Pediatric Pain Management at the IWK Health Centre and serves as Director of the Centre for Pediatric Pain Research. His work spans clinical practice, research, and global advocacy for pediatric pain management.
Research Interests focus on pediatric pain, perioperative anxiety, awareness and memory, and audible alarm signals, with a strong emphasis on global pain advocacy. His research integrates clinical, psychological, and cultural dimensions to improve pain care for children worldwide.
Recent Collaborations include co-PI roles in the CIHR SPOR Chronic Pain Network and international projects in Jordan, Thailand, China, and Brazil. His publications (>130 peer-reviewed papers) address pain epidemiology, cultural influences, and multidisciplinary care challenges.
