Dr. Allen Britten is a Professor of Chemistry at Cape Breton University (CBU) and former Dean of Science. He holds a PhD from the University of Waterloo and previously worked as Director of R&D at Antek Instruments in Houston, TX. His roles include CBU Representative to the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute and Academic Advisor to CBU Athletics. His research focuses on analytical chemistry, including isomer-specific nano-stationary phases for gas chromatography (GC), environmental analyses of soil and water in southern India, bio-oil characterization, and CuO nanostructures for energy storage.
Education: PhD from the University of Waterloo.
Research Interests: Dr. Britten’s work spans analytical chemistry innovations, environmental monitoring methodologies, nanomaterial applications in energy storage, and sustainable bio-resource development. He collaborates internationally, particularly in India, addressing environmental and energy challenges through advanced analytical techniques.
