Allan Weiss is a Professor at York University’s Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, affiliated with the Departments of English and Humanities. As both a creative writer and scholar, he explores questions of genre, context, and literary analysis in his work. He has published science fiction and fantasy short stories, a story collection (Living Room, 2001), and an academic bibliography on Canadian short stories (1950–1983).
- Research Focus: Canadian literature, fantastic fiction, genre theory, historical fiction.
- Teaching: Courses include HUMA 1905 (Science Fiction Culture) and EN 3230 (Modern Canadian Fiction), emphasizing contextual analysis and writing skills via his alter ego, Grammar Man.
