Allan MacNeill serves as Professor of Political Economy at Webster University with a joint appointment in the Department of History, Politics, and International Relations (College of Humanities and Social Sciences) and the Business department. Since joining the faculty in 1994, he has taught internationally across Webster's campuses in the Netherlands, Thailand, China, and Russia.
He received his bachelor's degree from Franklin and Marshall College and earned both his MS and PhD from the University of Massachusetts.
Dr. MacNeill's research examines intersections of political economy and historical economic systems, with concentrated focus on International Political Economy, Economic History, and Economic Policy. His innovative course development includes The Political Economy of Sex, Drugs, and Garbage alongside Gender and Globalization, Economic Development, and The History of Economic Crises—addressing critical issues like Economic Inequality and Minimum Wage through US Economic History frameworks.
His pedagogical excellence is formally recognized through:
