Alister Miskimmon

Professor Alister Miskimmon is a faculty member at Queen's University Belfast, affiliated with the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics. His research focuses on strategic narratives in international relations, public diplomacy, security studies, and German foreign policy. He has authored influential books such as Strategic Narratives: Communication Power and the New World Order (2013), which received the 2016 Best Book Award in International Communication from the International Studies Association, and Forging the World: Strategic Narratives in International Relations (2017).

His current projects include the Jean Monnet-funded E-YOUTH project, examining youth narratives and EU perceptions in Ukraine and Baltic states. He supervises PhD students in areas like European security, German foreign policy, and strategic narratives. Awards include the 2016 Best Book Award and a post-doctoral fellowship from the European Foreign and Security Policy Studies Programme. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical studies on global governance, emerging powers, and transatlantic relations.
