Alistair Moore is a Research Fellow in Science Education at the Department of Education, University of York, and a member of the University of York Science Education Group (UYSEG). His work focuses on bridging science education research with classroom practice through initiatives like the Best Evidence Science Teaching (BEST) project and collaborations with institutions such as the Oak National Academy and Royal Society of Biology (RSB).
- Co-Director of the BEST project, which provides free research-informed teaching resources
- Lead researcher for the Practical Assessment in School Science (PASS) project
- Former lead developer for OCR A-Level Biology and GCSE Sciences
- Senior examiner for GCSE Biology and contributor to national curriculum policy

He holds a BSc in Biology (Durham) and a PhD in Immunology and Biotechnology (Cambridge).
