Alison J. Frontier

Alison J. Frontier is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Rochester's School of Arts & Sciences. Her research group develops novel cyclization reactions to create complex functionalized ring systems from simple precursors. Current investigations focus on pericyclic reactions, cationic rearrangements, and diastereoselective cyclization cascades.

Research Focus: Creation of spiro-fused and bridged bicyclic compounds; chemodivergent synthesis strategies; applications to natural product synthesis. Recent publications demonstrate innovative approaches to constructing halogenated indenes and stereochemically complex scaffolds.
