Dr. Alison Hulme is Associate Professor in Social & Cultural Change and Director of the Global Economic and Social Development research centre (GESD) at the University of Northampton. Her research examines socio-economic development in China with parallel interests in consumption, globalization, and material culture.
Current Projects:
- Cultural models of family policy interpretation patterns
- Public change and identity politics
- Community radio impact studies
Teaching includes modules on International Development, Globalization and Development in the 21st Century, and Political Economies of International Development. She chairs the UK Global Studies Association and supervises doctoral research on CSR in developing economies and luxury goods consumption patterns.
