About
Alison E. Ringel is an Assistant Professor of Biology and Core Member at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT, and Harvard. Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms enabling immune cells to function under stress, particularly in tumor microenvironments and metabolic challenges. She holds a PhD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (2015) and a BA from Wesleyan University (2009).
Her research integrates
- CD8+ T cell biology
- Metabolic reprogramming
- Tumor-immune interactions
- Systemic metabolic influences
Notable achievements include the 2021 Forbeck Scholar award. Recent work highlights obesity’s role in tumor immunity suppression and age-related T cell vulnerabilities. Her lab employs interdisciplinary approaches to uncover therapeutic vulnerabilities in immune cells within diseased states.
