Alison Ainley

Dr Alison Ainley is Associate Professor in Philosophy at Anglia Ruskin University's School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Cambridge. With ARU since 1993, her research spans feminist philosophy, ethics, aesthetics and phenomenology, engaging thinkers including Heidegger, Aristotle, de Beauvoir and Freud.

Teaching includes Philosophy of Art, Ethics of AI, and Ruskin Module development. Honors include Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, 2016 Vice-Chancellor’s Award, and external examining roles at Cambridge University. Her publications analyze subjectivity, imagination and ethical dimensions in continental philosophy.
