Alisa Rannikko is a Researcher at the Unit of Social Research, Faculty of Social Sciences, Tampere University. Her doctoral research focuses on eco-social policies, sustainable wellbeing, and maxima limits in welfare systems. She serves as project manager for the MERGE project (Horizon Europe-funded), advancing sustainable and inclusive wellbeing through policy innovation. Her work bridges academia and policy, addressing systemic challenges in post-growth economics and beyond GDP metrics.
Research interests include eco-social policy design, sustainability transitions, and the intersection of economic models with planetary boundaries. She contributes to projects like ToBe (sustainable well-being economies), SPES (sustainability performances analysis), and REAL (post-growth development models).
Through MERGE, she collaborates with 16 international partners to develop policy instruments, indicators, and alliances for systemic change. Her work emphasizes co-creation with diverse stakeholders to align business practices and policies with sustainable wellbeing goals.
