Alicia Cooper is a full-time faculty member and Lecturer at the School of Nursing, Regent University, where she also serves as Director of Clinical Training. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Regent University and is pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP). Her clinical background includes extensive experience in emergency and trauma medicine, case management, critical care, psychiatric nursing, geriatric services, and inpatient bed flow coordination. Currently, she works with a psychiatric emergency response service in a local hospital system, coordinating placements for acute psychiatric patients.
Cooper's research and clinical focus centers on holistic patient care, emphasizing early recognition and intervention for mental health issues across the lifespan, with a primary emphasis on pediatrics and family wellness. She is deeply committed to nursing education and mentorship, having developed nursing mentorship programs and volunteering as a preceptor throughout her career. As Director of Clinical Training, she aims to bridge academic and practical nursing education while advancing her own clinical practice as a future Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
