Alice Young is a Professor in Psychological Sciences at Texas Tech University (TTU) and in Pharmacology & Neuroscience at TTU Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC). She also serves as the Associate Vice President for Research at TTU.

Her research focuses on psychopharmacology, particularly receptor-mediated processes in drug tolerance, dependence, and memory disorders in Alzheimer's disease. She investigates opioid mechanisms, cognitive effects of drugs, and neurochemical pathways.
