Dr. Alice T. Shaw, MD, PhD, is Chair of the Department of Medical Oncology and Chief of Strategic Partnerships at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she leads over 300 faculty and 80 research laboratories. She is also a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Shaw is a world-renowned clinical and translational researcher specializing in oncogene-driven lung cancers (ALK and ROS1-positive), focusing on mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies and the development of novel agents. Her work bridges basic research with clinical applications to accelerate therapeutic innovation for cancer patients.
She previously held leadership roles at Novartis and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), including Director of the Center for Thoracic Cancers at MGH and the Paula O’Keeffe Endowed Chair of Thoracic Oncology. She co-founded the Dana-Farber/MGH/Harvard Cancer Center Lung Cancer Program and continues to co-lead Dana-Farber’s Center for RAS Therapeutics.
Dr. Shaw’s clinical expertise includes treating non-small cell and small cell lung cancer, mesothelioma, and addressing drug resistance in oncology. Her training includes a residency in Internal Medicine at MGH and fellowships at Dana-Farber and the MIT Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research.
