Alice Papsun is a Lecturer in Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine and serves as the Director of Psychiatric Consultation Services for Yale Primary Care Residents and Attendings.
Dr. Papsun received her AB from Dartmouth College in 1991, earned an MSW from Smith College, and completed her medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine in 1995.
Dr. Papsun is an experienced clinician and educator specializing in psychiatry with a focus on chronic mental illness. Her career has included developing the Partial Hospital Program for chronically ill psychiatric patients at Yale Psychiatric Hospital. She has extensive experience supervising medical students and residents in inpatient hospital and emergency room settings, and served as an adolescent consultant at the Cedarhurst School. For the past eleven years, she has directed psychiatric consultation services for primary care providers, working to integrate mental health services with primary care to better serve chronically mentally ill patients.
Dr. Papsun maintains an active outpatient practice providing psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families, with particular commitment to supporting Yale housestaff and attendings.
