Alice Duarte

Alice Duarte is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Escola Superior de Dança, Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, specializing in movement studies, dance interpretation, and project-based learning. Her work bridges dance and architecture, focusing on creative skills development through interdisciplinary practices. As a doctoral candidate in Performing Arts and the Moving Image, she explores arts education and community engagement.

Her research interests center on the intersection of dance, spatial design, and artistic intervention, emphasizing movement as a form of expression and education. Her master's thesis, “Criar | Espaço,” laid the foundation for her ongoing doctoral work in this area.

The majority of her academic output revolves around interdisciplinary research between dance and architecture, with a focus on creative pedagogical methodologies. Her master's thesis (2016) remains a key publication in this field.

Her artistic creations include “suber ou saber: o abismo,” “sobre viver a uma festa de anos,” and the CYCLE “5 VILAS MUTANTES,” which explores themes like fire, liquid states, and temporal duality. She has performed in notable productions such as “Companhia limitada – estação terminal” (Teatro Nacional D. Maria II) and “MAR ADENTRO.”
