Alice Benzecry is a full-time Professor of Biology and Microbiology at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) within the Department of Biological Sciences. Her research focuses on plant antimicrobial activities, drug discovery, and the development of antimicrobial nanoparticulates for use in the cosmetic and food industries. She also specializes in coastal vegetation, salt marshes, and tidal wetlands, with collaborations at the New Jersey Meadowlands Research Institute, USGS, and NY/DE Parks Departments.
Dr. Benzecry is actively engaged in sustainability initiatives, serving as the FDU representative at the United Nations CoNGO Committee on Sustainable Development, chairing the Green Campus Committee, and advising the student GREEN Club. Her teaching encompasses Microbiology for Health Sciences, General Microbiology, and advanced research topics.
