Ali Rahim

Ali Rahim is a Professor of Architecture and Director of the Advanced Architecture Design (MSD-AAD) Program at the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design. He co-directs the architecture firm CAP, renowned for futuristic designs leveraging digital techniques and advanced technologies. Rahim has held visiting professorships at institutions like Harvard University, Yale University, and the University of Applied Arts Vienna. His research focuses on digital design methodologies, parametric systems, and computational architecture.

He has authored/co-edited influential publications including Catalytic Formations and Turbulence, and his work has been exhibited globally at venues like the Museum of Modern Art (New York) and the London Biennale. CAP’s projects, such as the Reebok Shanghai store and IWI Orthodontics Clinic in Tokyo, have garnered awards including the FEIDAD 2006 Outstanding Award and recognition in Phaidon’s ROOM 100.

Rahim’s academic contributions include over 250 international publications and editorial roles in Architectural Design. His work bridges architectural theory, digital innovation, and real-world applications, emphasizing sustainable and parametric design solutions.
