Dr Ali Hadigheh is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Head of School (Research Education) in the School of Civil Engineering at The University of Sydney. He leads the Smart Materials and Sustainable Structures (SMS2) group, focusing on sustainable infrastructure through innovative materials and systems. His expertise spans recycling of composite wastes, structural health monitoring, and additive manufacturing.
Education: PhD, MEng (Struct), BEng (Hons 1). He holds a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (CMatP).
Research interests include sustainable materials, composite recycling, smart sensors, and machine learning applications in civil engineering. He has secured grants such as the ARC DECRA Fellowship and produced over 150 publications, including a book. Notable awards include the 2020 DECRA Fellowship and multiple teaching excellence awards.
