Dr. Ali Alameer is a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Salford, School of Science, Engineering & Environment. He holds a Ph.D. in AI from Newcastle University and specializes in Ethical AI, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing. His research focuses on Large Vision Models (LVMs), Large Language Models (LLMs), and addressing algorithmic bias in AI systems. He leads a team of three Research Associates and supervises four PhD students.
Research Interests include Ethical AI (fairness, transparency in LLMs), Computer Vision (applied machine vision in agriculture), and Natural Language Processing. His ongoing projects include a £500k UKRI-funded legal expert system using LLMs and a £30k Evidential Ltd-funded ethical ASR model.
