Alfred Yawson

Professor Alfred Yawson is a Professor of Corporate Finance and Head of the Finance & Banking Discipline at the University of Adelaide's Adelaide Business School. He holds a first-class honours degree in Accounting from the University of Ghana, an MSc in Finance (Distinction) and PhD in Finance from Queen’s University Belfast. His research focuses on corporate finance, corporate restructuring (mergers, divestitures, labor-finance dynamics), and corporate governance. He has published in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Managerial Finance and editor of the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting. He has secured ARC grants and received research awards. Professor Yawson also consults for governments and private organizations, including pioneering Ghana’s VAT policy implementation.
