Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alfred Scheerhorn is a Professor of Communication Networks and IT Security at the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science (IuI) of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. He holds a Diplom-Informatik (1988) and a Dr.-Ing. (1993) from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. His career includes roles at Deutsche Telekom AG, IBM Deutschland, and as a consultant for international corporations in IT security. He has been a professor since 2005, focusing on secure communication systems, PKI, network security, and intrusion detection.
Research Interests: His work spans cryptography, network security, secure communication protocols, IT security management, and system security architectures. He emphasizes practical applications in PKI, intrusion detection systems, and secure software development.
