Alexis Miller is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, Criminal Justice & Organizational Leadership at Northern Kentucky University's College of Arts and Sciences. She also serves as the Coordinator for the Online Criminal Justice Program at NKU and holds the presidency of the Southern Criminal Justice Association, a regional affiliate of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
- Education: Bachelor of Science and Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisville; Ph.D. in Urban and Public Affairs from the University of Louisville.
Dr. Miller's research focuses on Hate Crimes, Prisoners' Rights, Media and Crime, and Institutional Corrections. She has taught courses such as Introduction to Corrections and Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice Ethics, and Women and Crime. Her work bridges empirical analysis of criminal justice systems with pedagogical approaches to student learning.
Her scientific contributions include 15 publications, with her most recent work in 2011 analyzing the disciplinary impact of the American Journal of Criminal Justice. She also contributes to academic leadership through her role in the Southern Criminal Justice Association.

Dr. Miller coordinates NKU's Online Criminal Justice Program and has extensive experience teaching criminal justice topics. She received her degrees from the University of Louisville and transitioned to NKU in 2008 after eight years of teaching in Tennessee.
