Alexis Martinez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at San Francisco State University. Since joining the faculty in 2007, she has focused on spatial analysis of health outcomes, opioid prescribing, and racial disparities in jail populations using qualitative and quantitative methods. Her work intersects medical sociology and community-based research with structurally vulnerable populations in the United States.
