Alexis Basque is Course Instructor of Baroque Trumpet and Early Music Ensembles at McGill University's Schulich School of Music. A specialist in historical performance practice, he performs extensively with ensembles including Ensemble Caprice, Bande Montréal Baroque, and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts' complete Bach Cantata cycle project.
His expertise encompasses Baroque trumpet, natural horn, and tromba da tirarsi, with performances across North America, Europe, and Israel. Recording credits include Vivaldi's "The Return of the Angels" and the ongoing complete Bach Cantatas series with ATMA Classique. He maintains an active orchestral career as principal trumpet with Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières.
