Alexia Singh

Alexia Singh is a Senior Lecturer in BA (Hons) Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at London College of Communication. With 20 years of experience in news and NGOs, she has held roles at Reuters, Magnum, and Save the Children. She managed global picture desks during pivotal events like the Iraq War and 2016 migrant crisis, curated exhibitions, and led interactive storytelling projects. At Save the Children, she directed content for Mediterranean Sea rescue operations, produced campaigns on child hunger and Rohingya refugees, and created the podcast 'Anywhere but Home.' Currently, she combines photography and literature as Photography Director of non-profit 'A Thousand Word Photos.'

Her research interests focus on visual storytelling in crisis contexts, humanitarian advocacy, and multimedia narratives. She has pioneered interactive storytelling platforms like 'The Wider Image' and led cross-disciplinary teams in journalism and NGO sectors.
