About
Professor Alexey Pan is a faculty member in the School of Physics at the University of Wollongong, within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences. His research focuses on materials engineering and condensed matter physics, with particular emphasis on superconductivity, metallurgy, and thin film technology. He has secured significant grants, including a Benchtop Scanning Electron Microscope grant (2023) and funding from the Australian Academy of Science for Ukraine-Australia collaborative research (2023).
Professor Pan’s work explores advanced materials such as superconducting thin films, high-carbon steels, and nanostructured materials. His recent studies include optimizing flux pinning in superconductors, analyzing phase transformations in steels, and developing novel fabrication techniques for enhanced material performance. He currently supervises PhD and MPhil students in projects related to YBCO superconductors, graphene analogs, and radiation dosimetry.
His funding and research collaborations highlight expertise in both fundamental and applied materials science, with applications in energy storage, medical technologies, and advanced manufacturing.
