Alexei Kazakov

Alexei Kazakov is a doctoral student at the University of Ottawa, Department of Philosophy, with a focus on Philosophy of History, Conceptual History, and Modernity/Postmodernity. He also holds a PartTime Lecturer role at the university since 2023.

His research explores the intertextual relationships between French thinkers (Pierre Nora, Marcel Gauchet, Paul Ricœur) and Reinhart Koselleck’s theory of modernity/postmodernity, with a focus on semantic shifts in concepts like nostalgia and national identity. His 2023 publication analyzes Svetlana Boym through Koselleck’s framework.
