Alexandre Pereira

Dr. Alexandre Pereira is a Lecturer at King's College London, affiliated with the School of Global Affairs under the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. He holds a doctorate in Public Policies and a master’s in Environment, Politics, and Globalisation from King’s, as well as an MBA in Environmental Management and Technologies from the University of São Paulo. His research focuses on environmental politics, lobbying, international development, and comparative policy studies, particularly in emerging economies.

He teaches courses such as 'History of the Global Economy' and 'Climate Change and Uneven Development.' His recent research includes studies on global blood pressure trends and policy reforms in Brazil and India. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to sustainable development and environmental stewardship.

Dr. Pereira has published in journals like the International Journal of Epidemiology and The Lancet, focusing on public health and cardiovascular research. His doctoral thesis examined solid waste reforms in Brazil and India through the lens of interest group participation in policy decisions.
