Alexandre Christoyannopoulos is a Reader in Politics and International Relations at Loughborough University, United Kingdom. He holds a PhD in Politics and Religion from the University of Kent, where he also completed his BA in Economics and MA in International Relations and European Studies. Before joining Loughborough in 2010, he taught at the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University. His research and teaching focus on pacifism, anarcho-pacifism, political theory (especially Leo Tolstoy), critical security studies, and the intersections of religion and politics. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pacifism and Nonviolence (Brill) and has authored numerous books and articles on Christian anarchism, nonviolence, and Tolstoy’s thought. He is also known for his pedagogical innovations, such as the Socratic Hive platform showcasing student essays.
