About
Alexandre Audebert serves as Chief Heritage Curator and Deputy Regional Archaeology Curator at the Amiens site within the Regional Archaeology Service (Drac Hauts-de-France). He holds a permanent research position at HALMA UMR-8164, a joint research unit affiliated with University of Lille, CNRS, and the Ministry of Culture.
His research focuses on the ancient countryside of Gaul Belgium, particularly examining networks of rural settlements, supply systems, agricultural production, and urban-rural relations. His scholarly work bridges archaeological field research with cultural heritage management.
Audebert's recent publications demonstrate his expertise in Gallo-Roman archaeology, with studies on rural communities among the Remi and Tricasses tribes, castle archaeology at Villers-Cotterêts, and urban history research in Soissons. His work reveals a consistent focus on interdisciplinary approaches to understanding ancient settlement patterns and cultural landscapes.
As Territorial manager of the Amiens Métropole territory and the MH of the Somme, he oversees archaeological heritage management in this region, connecting his academic research with practical cultural heritage administration.
