Alexandra Lee

Dr. Alexandra Lee is a Lecturer in History at Goldsmiths, University of London, specializing in medieval history with a focus on the intersection of epidemic disease and popular religion in late medieval Europe. She holds a PhD in Italian Studies from UCL (2017), an MA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from UCL (2013), and a BA in Modern and Medieval Languages from the University of Cambridge (2012). Her research examines medieval religious revivals, particularly the Bianchi devotions of 1399 in Italy, exploring their relationship with plague outbreaks and local religious practices. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2021).

Her teaching includes courses on global medical history, medieval source analysis, and the historical impacts of pandemics.
