Alexandra Gaynor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Montclair State University's College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She earned her Ph.D. in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience from the City University of New York and completed postdoctoral training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Columbia University Medical Center.
Her research program investigates cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying memory and attention processes in older adults using multimodal approaches including non-invasive brain stimulation, neuroimaging, and behavioral assessment. Key focus areas include:
- Roles of disease history, lifestyle factors, and individual differences in neurocognitive function
- Efficacy of non-invasive brain stimulation for cognitive enhancement in clinical populations
