Professor Alexandra Boltasseva is the Chairman of the Constructor Group Strategic Advisory Board and a Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Birck Nanotechnology Center, Purdue University. She holds a PhD from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. After beginning her academic career at DTU, she joined Purdue University in 2008.
Her research focuses on pioneering advancements in nanophotonics and optical materials, with emphasis on:
- Plasmonics and nanophotonic technologies
- Optical metamaterials and nanoscale optics
- Nanofabrication techniques and material growth
- Semiconductor-compatible photonic devices
Major Scientific Honors:
- R.W. Wood Prize (2023) - Highest optical physics recognition
- SPIE Fellow (2017) - For achievements in optical engineering
- OSA Fellow (2015) - For contributions to photonics
- DANIELA PUCCI Prize (2014) - Nanotechnology research excellence
