Alexander Pons

Alexander Pons is a Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Florida International University (FIU). He holds a Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Miami (1998, 1989, and 1983 respectively). His research focuses on embedded systems, cybersecurity, IoT security, and machine learning applications. Key areas include malware analysis, network traffic analysis, system virtualization (using QEMU), and system/network forensics.

His work bridges theoretical advancements and practical implementations, with recent contributions to 5G network security, edge ML for anomaly detection, and trust management in wireless sensor networks.
