Alexander Nast

Prof. Alexander Nast, MD, is a leading academic in dermatology and evidence-based medicine at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. He serves as Head of the Division of Evidence-Based Medicine (dEBM) and directs the University Outpatient Clinic for Dermatology at Campus Charité Mitte (CCM). His research focuses on systematic reviews, guideline development, and clinical dermatology, particularly psoriasis, acne, and scar treatments.

He was trained as a dermatologist and venereologist at Charité and St John’s Institute of Dermatology in London, UK. Under Prof. Berthold Rzany, he specialized in evidence-based medicine and assumed leadership of dEBM in 2012. His work bridges methodological research, health services projects, and Cochrane reviews.

Key roles include Chair of the Guidelines Committee of the German Dermatological Society (DDG), Certified Guidelines Advisor with the AWMF, and Board Member of the AWMF. His division contributes to national and international medical guidelines while advancing scarless healing research.
