Alexander Hoffman, Pharm.D., BCPS, CDCES, is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). He joined NEOMED in 2013 after completing a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Kaiser Permanente Medical Plan of Ohio and serving as a pharmacist there. He holds a Pharm.D. from Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy (2011) and a Master’s in Education in Health Professions Education (2021). Currently, he is a primary care clinical pharmacist at the Cleveland Clinic and practices at Healthspan Integrated Care.
His research focuses on
- Chronic disease management and healthcare payment models,
- Professional identity development in pharmacy education,
- Graphic medicine as an educational tool,
- Transformative learning strategies,
- Mentorship in academia.
He has been honored with NEOMED’s
- 2019 Teacher of the Year (P2 Class),
- 2020 and 2021 Faculty Excellence in Interprofessional Collaboration Awards (P4 Classes).
Hoffman directs courses such as Personal and Professional Development in Pharmacy and Graphic Storytelling: Comics and Medicine. He also teaches in Pharmacotherapeutics and Advanced Ambulatory Care Design series.
