Alexander Felfernig

Alexander Felfernig is a full professor at Graz University of Technology (Austria) since March 2009, affiliated with the Institute of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence where he directs the Applied Software Engineering & AI research group (ASE).

Education:

• PhD in Computer Science from the University of Klagenfurt

Research Interests: His work spans configuration systems, recommender systems, sustainability, model-based diagnosis, software requirements engineering, human decision making, and knowledge acquisition methods, focusing on AI-driven solutions for complex software engineering challenges.

Advising and Grants: Professor Felfernig supervises final theses in applied software development and leads research projects in his core domains, with consultation hours arranged individually.

Research Group: He heads the Applied Software Engineering & AI research group (ASE), driving innovation in configuration technologies, recommender systems, and sustainable AI applications through interdisciplinary collaboration.
