Alexander F Myers

Alexander F Myers is an Associate Professor of Interaction Design at Creighton University’s College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Journalism, Media, and Computing. His research explores the intersection of Game Design, Glitch Art, and Computational Aesthetics, often focusing on Augmented and Virtual Reality and Interactive Installations.

• Education: MFA in Interactive Media & Environments from The Frank Mohr Institute (2009)

His creative work has been exhibited globally, spanning institutions in Canada, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, the UK, and Iran. He is recognized for pioneering Game Art and Glitch Art practices, with notable participation in events like GLI.TC/H festival and residencies in Groningen, Netherlands. Myers has received prestigious grants, including the Electric Objects Artist Grant (2016) and Provincié Groningen Kunst en Cultuur Prijs (2009, 2014), and was named a “10 Artists to Watch” (2011) by the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art.

Myers has presented at major conferences such as the NetworkDetroit Digital Humanities Conference and the College Art Association Conference, discussing topics like digital exaptation, art games, and surveillance critiques.
