Alexander Chouljenko

Alexander Chouljenko is an Assistant Professor in Seafood Science at NC State University's Center for Marine Sciences and Technology (CMAST). His work bridges academic research and industry outreach, focusing on seafood safety, processing innovations, and quality assurance.

• Education: Ph.D. (2019), M.S. (2015) in Food Science from Louisiana State University; B.S. in Kinesiology (2013).

Research Interests emphasize seafood safety through thermal/non-thermal processing, edible films, microbial control, and nanotechnological applications. He investigates post-harvest quality maintenance and repurposes seafood byproducts for value-added commodity development.

Outreach Activities include HACCP/SCP workshops for the seafood industry and technical services like process validation and safety training. His work aligns with NC State's Extension mission to deliver science-based programming.
